What this flasher logs, why we keep it, and how long we keep it.

The short version

No account. No sign-up. No personal details asked for. No advertising, no tracking pixels, and no third-party analytics of any kind.

What we do have is an access log, and we read it.

What gets logged

Every request to this flasher is logged. That includes your IP address, the network it came from, your approximate location, and information about the browser and device you used — along with the time, and what was requested. We keep it. We review it. We use it to enforce the firmware license, to block abuse, and to pursue anyone redistributing our binaries.

If you are here to pull the binaries and mirror them somewhere else, understand that the log has you in it, and that the firmware you downloaded is marked.

Why we hold it

License enforcement. The binaries are proprietary and this flasher is one of only two authorized sources. The log is how unauthorized redistribution gets traced.
Abuse prevention. Rate limiting, bot filtering and blocking the networks that scrape us.
Making it work. Knowing which boards get flashed, and which flashes fail, is how the firmware and this page get fixed.

We do not sell this information, rent it, or hand it to anybody for marketing. It exists to protect the work.

Storage in your browser

This flasher stores a small identifier in your browser so a returning visitor can be recognized across a session. It is not an advertising cookie and it is not shared with anyone. Clearing your browser storage removes it.

Services we rely on

This site runs on Cloudflare, which hosts it and processes requests on our behalf. The “confirm you're human” check is Cloudflare Turnstile. Fonts are served by Google Fonts. These providers handle data under their own terms.

How long we keep it

Access records are kept for as long as they are useful for enforcement and abuse prevention — twelve months at minimum. Records tied to an active license or infringement matter are kept until that matter is finished.

Buying from us is separate

Orders, payments, shipping and customer accounts are handled on halehound.com, which runs on Shopify and is covered by its own Privacy Policy. Nothing on this page applies to a purchase, and nothing from a purchase is needed to use this flasher.

Your rights, and contact

Depending on where you live you may have the right to ask what we hold about you, to ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or to object to how we use it. Requests that would defeat license enforcement or an active infringement investigation may be refused where the law allows it.
